Trainee (m/f/d) building material tester for geotechnics
During your training as a building materials tester, you will scrutinise building materials. The geotechnical engineering specialism is all about soils and subsoils. To find out whether it is suitable for building construction and civil engineering, you apply pressure to the ground on site using a load plate. You will also measure how quickly water seeps away, take soil samples to the laboratory and test them for ingredients.
During your training, you will work in our own geotechnical soil laboratory as well as on construction sites in Saxony.
Tasks of a building materials tester:
- Carrying out classification tests on soils (sieving, etc.)
- Carrying out permeability tests
- Carrying out sampling and tests on site
- Quality control of earthworks, concrete and asphalt construction measures on site.
- Laboratory management (sample run, quality monitoring) and much more.
You will complete your school-based training at the state vocational school in Selb in block lessons.
We are happy to offer you the opportunity to find out more about your possible training programme.
